Operaciones de cobertura y seguridad fronteriza: análisis estratégico Norte de Santander/ cantón Militar San Jorge.

Abstract

El artículo analiza la problemática de seguridad en el Departamento de Norte de Santander, Colombia, enfocándose en las necesidades propias del cantón militar San Jorge para el desarrollo de operaciones de cobertura que garanticen la seguridad de las propias tropas y al mismo tiempo la seguridad fronteriza, especialmente en la región del Catatumbo donde se destaca la influencia significativa de grupos ilegales colombianos en el tráfico de drogas hacia Venezuela, lo que desafía las operaciones de seguridad fronteriza. La metodología empleada está basada en un enfoque cualitativo, y ayudará a responder la siguiente pregunta de investigación: ¿Cuáles son las necesidades de seguridad y defensa del cantón Militar San Jorge en el departamento de Norte de Santander, para garantizar el desarrollo de operaciones de cobertura adecuadas mejorando la capacidad de respuesta ante posibles amenazas? Y finalmente planteará unas breves conclusiones para garantizar la seguridad y cobertura de las instalaciones del cantón militar San Jorge.

This article analyzes the security challenges faced by the Department of Norte de Santander, Colombia, with a particular focus on the specific needs of the San Jorge Military Canton for conducting area security operations. These operations aim to ensure the safety of both troops and the border region, especially in the Catatumbo area, where Colombian illegal armed groups have a significant influence on drug trafficking towards Venezuela, thereby posing challenges to border security operations. A qualitative methodology is employed to address the following research question: What are the security and defense needs of the San Jorge Military Canton in the Department of Norte de Santander to guarantee the development of adequate area security operations and improve its response capacity to potential threats? Finally, the article presents brief conclusions to ensure the security and coverage of the San Jorge Military Canton's installations.
