Eficiencia operativa en la FAC: análisis del impacto en la seguridad y defensa nacional por déficit de aeronaves de transporte intermedio

Abstract

La eficiencia operativa de la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana (FAC) es un pilar para la seguridad y defensa de una nación con desafíos geográficos complejos. En el presente artículo, se analiza cómo el déficit funcional de aeronaves de transporte intermedio impacta negativamente dicha eficiencia y, por extensión, la seguridad nacional. A través de una metodología cualitativa, que se fundamenta en el análisis documental de reportes institucionales, fuentes doctrinales y un análisis comparativo con Fuerzas Aéreas de la región, tomadas como referencia, así como en entrevistas a expertos, se examina la problemática. El estudio, fundamentado en teorías de poder aéreo y logística militar, describe las capacidades actuales de la FAC, relaciona las amenazas derivadas del déficit de capacidad y establece la necesidad de incluir el concepto de "transporte intermedio" en su doctrina aérea. Finalmente, se proponen recomendaciones para mitigar el déficit, asegurando la optimización de los recursos y el fortalecimiento de la soberanía nacional.

The operational efficiency of the Colombian Aerospace Force (FAC) is a cornerstone for the security and defense of a nation with complex geographical challenges. This article analyzes how the functional deficit of intermediate transport aircraft negatively impacts said efficiency and, by extension, national security. Through a qualitative methodology, based on the documentary analysis of institutional reports, doctrinal sources, and a comparative analysis with regional Air Forces used as a reference, as well as interviews with experts, the issue is examined. The study, grounded in theories of air power and military logistics, describes the FAC's current capabilities, relates the threats arising from the capacity deficit, and establishes the need to include the "intermediate transport" concept in its air doctrine. Finally, recommendations are proposed to mitigate the deficit, ensuring the optimization of resources and the strengthening of national sovereignty.
