| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | This study analyzes the influence of the leadership exercised by commanders of the National Army on the emotional well-being of their military personnel, from an organizational psychology perspective within the context of national security and defense. A quantitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design was employed, using the Adapted MLQ Questionnaire with 21 items to assess leadership styles (transformational, transactional, and laissez faire) and the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale to measure dimensions of emotional well-being (autonomy, personal growth, purpose in life, among others). Participants were officers with the rank of Major, enrolled in postgraduate programs at War College. Results indicate that transformational leadership is predominant, followed by transactional leadership, while laissez-faire leadership is infrequent. Military personnel display high levels of emotional well-being, especially in personal growth and autonomy. However, there are subgroups with moderate perceptions in positive relationships and purpose in life, critical areas for cohesion and motivation. Correlational analysis reveals that only laissez faire leadership is negatively and significantly related to purpose in life, suggesting that the absence of active leadership adversely affects this vital aspect of well-being. Transformational and transactional leadership styles did not show significant correlations. It is concluded that transformational leadership is key to fostering healthy and resilient environments. Reducing passive leadership is crucial to prevent deterioration in subjective well-being. Strengthening training in emotional intelligence and active leadership is recommended to improve organizational health and operational effectiveness of the National Army in highly demanding scenarios. | es_ES |
