dc.descriptionAdmiral Ernesto Durán González was born in San Gil, Santander, on October 13, 1962. He graduated as Lieutenant of Lieutenant from the “Almirante Padilla” Naval Cadet School in 1984. He is a Physical Oceanographer and has a Master's degree in National Security and Defense from the School. Superior of War “General Rafael Reyes Prieto”. He commanded scientific research units, the coast guard and the ARC Training Ship “Gloria”. He was Director of the Barranquilla Naval Non-Commissioned Officer School and Commander of the Pacific Naval Force. Representative of Colombia before the International Maritime Organization in England and Maritime Director General. He took over as Commander of the Navy in May 2017 until December 2018.en-US
dc.descriptionEl Almirante Ernesto Durán González nació en San Gil, Santander, el 13 de octubre de 1962. Graduado como Teniente de Corbeta de la Escuela Naval de Cadetes “Almirante Padilla” en 1984. Es Oceanógrafo Físico y magíster en Seguridad y Defensa Nacionales de la Escuela Superior de Guerra “General Rafael Reyes Prieto”. Comandó unidades de investigación científica, guardacostas y del Buque Escuela ARC “Gloria”. Fue Director de la Escuela Naval de Suboficiales de Barranquilla y Comandante de la Fuerza Naval del Pacífico. Representante de Colombia ante la Organización Marítima Internacional en Inglaterra y Director General Marítimo. Asumió como Comandante de la Armada en mayo de 2017 hasta diciembre de 2018.es-ES
