The existing literature review on information disorders reveals the increasing complexity and sophistication of these threats in the context of global security and defense. This research indicates that information disorders are commonly employed by both state and non-state actors to achieve their strategic objectives. Disinformation, one of the main types of information disorders, relies on the deliberate influence of people’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, using techniques that can be exponentially amplified through advanced digital tools. Its spread enables actors to influence public opinion or create social divisions. In this context, the Colombian Military Forces (FFMM) become an attractive target for the country’s adversaries, who may resort to disinformation to undermine institutional legitimacy, demoralize its members, and weaken its operational capacity. This academic article offers an updated conceptualization of information disorders, analyzing their context, methods, and societal impactes_ES
